The Village Pantry is off to a great start. Close 60 people and their families have received our services in the past three weeks. We have gone through about 1,200 lbs of food. The cupboards are looking pretty bare these days and that is just one indication of our success. We have taken great pride in just listening to those that come through our doors. The conversations that have taken place have been amazing. Thank you North Park for sharing your stories with us. We have recently been added to the San Diego Food Bank and to Feeding America Food Bank. We are grateful for their encouragement and committment to help us help the community. This is just the beginning my friends. More to come...
By all means, if you have non-perishable food items to donate, we would be grateful. Come check us out. Let me hear your ideas.

Grand Opening
The Village Pantry is now open Monday-Friday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 4011 Ohio Street, San Diego, CA 92104 619-283-5936. We are here to serve the public on a walk-in basis. You simply just have to have a need and we will do the best we can to serve you with a 3-day supply of emergency food. We ask that you bring a photo I.D. Depending on the resources we have, you will be allowed to receive our services 1-2 times per month. We also have a clothes closet and more importantly we have caring staff that are here to listen. Of course, you are always welcome to just stop by for a cup of coffee and to chat. We are truly rewarded by your stories, afterall, we all have a story to tell. The ideas that have surfaced from these convesations have been amazing. We are the Village Pantry that truly believes that it takes a village...
